Phil Foden mom punched in a fight
In footage which has been circulated on social media, Foden was called a ‘c***’ and a ‘f*****’ by a group of men as he made his way to a private room at the AO Arena.
Foden’s girlfriend, Rebecca Cooke, turned and shouted at the men, ‘who are you calling a c***?’.
Foden’s mother, Claire, then walked out of the room and asked, ‘right, who’s calling him?’
The group of men continued to stand outside the door to the room before Claire shoved one of them away. She was then struck in the face which triggered a brawl between the two parties.
A man in a black baseball cap appeared to be defending Foden and his family as he ripped a fire extinguisher off the wall and swung it towards the men.
Foden, who had played for Manchester City in their 3-2 defeat to Tottenham earlier that day, did not throw a punch during the clip.
The incident broke out during Brook’s entrance to the ring as his ring walk song, ‘All of the Lights’, could be heard in the background of the video.
In a statement, Manchester City said: ‘The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused.
‘We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family members.
‘We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need.’
